Leveraging VMM and service templates, you can automate the deployment of the new web application. The deployment happens across the load balanced web servers that would be defined in the web tier of the service template.
You would choose to use the service templates to test the deployment process for each new release in a staging environment. Prior to using service templates in VMM, this process would have taken too long to complete, therefore wasn’t ever done. However using service template, you can update the template with the new content and create a new instance to test the roll out.
